Define a good result
Your test case does not need to be long. Start with A photographed printed handout converted to text before import. Check that the source is the version you intend to use, that the important words survived import, and that a listener can follow the order without seeing the page.
The starting pointA scanned page is an image, so it needs a text-recognition step before VoxNote can read the words.
Work through the checklist
- 01
Check whether any words can be selected
Make this check before selecting a final voice or generating a long recording. A clean source makes the later choices easier.
- 02
Use a trusted OCR tool to create selectable text outside VoxNote
Keep the meaning intact. Editing a listening copy should make the sequence easier to hear without changing the underlying claim.
- 03
Copy or import the recognized text and proofread it
Listen all the way through the sample. Check the start, the transitions, and the ending before moving on.
Catch the easy-to-miss detail
VoxNote does not include built-in OCR. Re-importing the same image-only PDF will not reveal its text.
| Checkpoint | What to look for | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Source check | Confirm the text and its order | Compare against the original |
| Listening check | Confirm the voice and comfortable speed | Replay one representative paragraph |
| Saved result | Confirm the note or file is where you expect | Open it once before relying on it |
A final listening check
Before you finish, make sure the title is recognizable, the first paragraph sounds right, and the saved result opens. If you changed the source text, keep that listening copy separate from the original so the edits remain easy to understand.
