Reproduce the problem briefly
Use a short test instead of regenerating the whole document. A useful test case here is: A photographed printed handout converted to text before import. Keep a copy of the original so every edit is reversible. Note what you expected to hear and what you actually heard.
The starting pointA scanned page is an image, so it needs a text-recognition step before VoxNote can read the words.
Check the source first
- 01
Inspect the input
Check whether any words can be selected. Compare the affected passage against the original document.
- 02
Change one thing
Use a trusted OCR tool to create selectable text outside VoxNote. Keep the rest of your settings unchanged so this is a fair test.
- 03
Listen again
Copy or import the recognized text and proofread it. Use the same sentence to decide whether the change improved the result.
Separate the symptoms
VoxNote does not include built-in OCR. Re-importing the same image-only PDF will not reveal its text.
| Checkpoint | What to look for | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Words or order are wrong | Compare the extracted text with the original | Edit the text before changing voices |
| Words are clear, delivery feels wrong | Preview another speaker at the same speed | Choose voice and speed separately |
| The sample works, the full note does not | Check document length and device storage | Split at a meaningful section boundary |
Retest before replacing a recording
When the short test works, apply only the successful change to the longer note. If it still fails, write down the file type, the selected voice, and the exact step where the problem occurs. Those details make a support request more useful.
